The Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities met at 3:32 p.m. this day, in Room 228, The Valour Building, the Chair, Larry Miller, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Peter Braid, Ed Komarnicki, Hoang Mai, David J. McGuinty, Larry Miller, Jeff Watson, Wai Young and David Yurdiga.

 

Acting Members present: Matthew Kellway for Isabelle Morin and Craig Scott for Mike Sullivan.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Allison Padova, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Department of Industry: Éric Dagenais, Assistant Deputy Minister, Spectrum, Information Technologies and Telecommunications; Corinne Charette, Senior Assistant Deputy Minister, Spectrum, Information Technologies and Telecommunications. As an individual: Matti Siemiatycki, Associate Professor, University of Toronto. TODERIAN UrbanWORKS: Brent Toderian.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, April 23, 2015, the Committee resumed its study of updating infrastructure in Canada: an examination of needs and investments.
 

Matti Siemiatycki, by videoconference from Toronto, Ontario, Brent Toderian, by videoconference from Vancouver, British Columbia, and Corinne Charette made statements and, with Éric Dagenais, answered questions.

 

At 5:00 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:01 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 
The Committee proceeded to give drafting instructions to the analyst for a report.
 

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of updating infrastructure in Canada, members of the Committee submit their suggested recommendations to the Clerk of the Committee, in both official languages, by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 5, 2015.

 

At 5:29 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
