MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS

Meeting No. 24

Monday, May 5, 2014

The Standing Committee on Public Accounts met in camera at 3:32 p.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, David Christopherson, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Dan Albas, Malcolm Allen, John Carmichael, David Christopherson, Ted Falk, Alain Giguère, Bryan Hayes and Stephen Woodworth.

Acting Members present: Hon. Lawrence MacAulay for Yvonne Jones.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Daniel Benatuil, Analyst ; Alex Smith, Analyst.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That, if possible, the Committee devote its meetings of Monday, May 12 and Wednesday, May 14, 2014, to the following studies and activities:

• public hearing in relation to the study of Chapter 8, Disaster Relief for Producers — Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, of the Fall 2013 Report of the Auditor General of Canada

• consideration of matters relating to Committee business

• consideration of a draft report in relation to the study of Chapter 7, Oversight of Rail Safety — Transport Canada, of the Fall 2013 Report of the Auditor General of Canada.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), and the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, March 31, 2014, the Committee resumed consideration of the Main Estimates 2014-15: Report on Plans and Priorities for 2014-15 and Performance Report for 2012-13 of the Office of the Auditor General of Canada.

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

It was agreed, — That the draft report be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Main Estimates 2014-15: Report on Plans and Priorities for 2014-15 and Performance Report for 2012-13 of the Office of the Auditor General of Canada".

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

It was agreed, — That the Clerk of the Committee prepare and issue a press release following the presentation of the report in the House.

At 4:53 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
