The Special Committee on Violence Against Indigenous Women met in camera at 6:02 p.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Stella Ambler, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Stella Ambler, Niki Ashton, Hon. Carolyn Bennett, Kelly Block, Lois Brown, Bob Dechert, Irene Mathyssen, Cathy McLeod, Mark Strahl and Susan Truppe.

 

Acting Members present: Dan Harris for Romeo Saganash and Marc-André Morin for Jean Crowder.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Lyne Casavant, Analyst; Julie Cool, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Monday, October 21, 2013, the Committee resumed its study of violence against indigenous women.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

At 7:55 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 8:12 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "INVISIBLE WOMEN: A CALL TO ACTION A Report on Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women in Canada".

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analyst be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

 

At 10:03 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
