The Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology met at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 268, La Promenade Building, the Chair, David Sweet, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Raymond Côté, Cheryl Gallant, Ed Holder, Hon. Mike Lake, Brian Masse and David Sweet.

 

Acting Members present: Joan Crockatt for Mark Warawa, Dan Harris for Chris Charlton, Ryan Leef for Joyce Bateman and Hon. Geoff Regan for Hon. Judy Sgro.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Mathieu Frigon, Analyst; Édison Roy-César, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Entertainment Software Association of Canada: Jayson Hilchie, President and Chief Executive Officer; Julien Lavoie, Vice-President, Public Affairs. Department of Industry: Robert Dunlop, Assistant Deputy Minister, Science and Innovation Sector. Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada: Janet Walden, Chief Operating Officer. Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada: Ursula Gobel, Director, Communications Division. National Research Council of Canada: Gail McLellan, Director General, Finance Branch.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, February 10, 2014, the Committee resumed its study of entertainment software industry in Canada.
 

Jayson Hilchie made a statement and, with Julien Lavoie, answered questions.

 

At 4:43 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:47 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 81(5), the Committee commenced consideration of the Supplementary Estimates (C) 2013-14: Vote 5c under ATLANTIC CANADA OPPORTUNITIES AGENCY, Votes 60c, 65c, 70c, 80c and 95c under INDUSTRY, referred to the Committee on Thursday, February 13, 2014.
 

The Chair called Vote 60c under INDUSTRY.

 

Robert Dunlop made a statement and, with Janet Walden, Ursula Gobel and Gail McLellan, answered questions.

 

By unanimous consent, the Chair called Votes 65c, 70c, 80c and 95c under INDUSTRY.

 

Votes 60c, 65c, 70c, 80c and 95c under INDUSTRY carried on division.

 

The Chair called Vote 5c under ATLANTIC CANADA OPPORTUNITIES AGENCY.

 

Vote 5c under ATLANTIC CANADA OPPORTUNITIES AGENCY carried on division.
