The Standing Committee on Human Resources, Skills and Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 7-52, 131 Queen Street, the Chair, Phil McColeman, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Scott Armstrong, Ray Boughen, Brad Butt, Rodger Cuzner, Jim Eglinski, Sadia Groguhé, Colin Mayes, Phil McColeman, Marie-Claude Morin and Jinny Jogindera Sims.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Caroline Quesnel, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Social Research and Demonstration Corporation: Jean-Pierre Voyer, President and Chief Executive Officer; Sheila Currie, Principal Research Associate. As an individual: David Juppe, Senior Operating Budget Manager. Government of Saskatchewan: Dale McFee, Deputy Minister, Corrections and Policing, Ministry of Justice. Saskatoon Downtown Youth Centre Inc.: Donald Meikle, Executive Director. Parkland Institute: Barret Weber, Research Manager.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, February 5, 2015, the Committee resumed its study on exploring the potential of social finance in Canada.
 

Donald Meikle, Dale McFee, by videoconference from Regina, Saskatchewan, and David Juppe by videoconference from Annapolis, United States of America, made statements and answered questions.

 

At 4:27 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:32 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Jean-Pierre Voyer and Barret Weber, by videoconference from Edmonton, Alberta, made statements and, with Sheila Currie, answered questions.

 

At 5:22 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
