The Standing Committee on Health met at 11:00 a.m. this day, in Room 306, The Valour Building, the Chair, Ben Lobb, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Eve Adams, Libby Davies, Wladyslaw Lizon, Ben Lobb, James Lunney, David Wilks and Terence Young.

 

Acting Members present: Jean Crowder for Dany Morin, Rosane Doré Lefebvre for Matthew Kellway, Kirsty Duncan for Hon. Hedy Fry, Ted Falk for Eve Adams, Alexandrine Latendresse for Dany Morin and Mark Warawa for Wladyslaw Lizon.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Havi Echenberg, Analyst; Marlisa Tiedemann, Analyst. House of Commons: Marc-André Morin.

 

Witnesses: Electronic Cigarette Trade Association of Canada: Daniel David, Chair of the Board. TVC Liquids: Shawn Wells, Owner. NJOY: David M. Graham, Senior Vice-President, Global Regulatory Affairs. Canadian Convenience Stores Association: Alex Scholten, President. 180 Smoke: Boris Giller, Co-Founder. Smoke NV Inc.: Shanu Mohamedali, President; Inderpreet Rai, Medical Director.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, October 7, 2014, the Committee resumed its study of e-cigarettes.
 

David M. Graham, by videoconference from Scottsdale, Arizona, and Daniel David and Shawn Wells made statements and answered questions.

 

At 12:01 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:11 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Inderpreet Rai and Shanu Mohamedali, by videoconference from Edmonton, Alberta, and Alex Scholten and Boris Giller made statements and answered questions.

 

At 1:00 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
