The Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met in camera at 3:40 p.m. this day, in Room 268, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Rodney Weston, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Robert Chisholm, Ryan Cleary, Patricia Davidson, Fin Donnelly, Randy Kamp, Greg Kerr, Ryan Leef, Hon. Lawrence MacAulay, John Weston and Rodney Weston.

 

Acting Members present: Gerald Keddy for Robert Sopuck and Pierre Nantel for Philip Toone.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Thai Nguyen, Analyst.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the First Report from the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, which read as follows, be concurred in:

Your Subcommittee met on Thursday, November 7, 2013, to consider the business of the Committee and agreed to make the following recommendations:

1. That the Minister of Fisheries and Oceans be invited to appear before the Committee for the study of the Supplementary Estimates (B) tabled in the House on November 7, 2013, and referred to the Committee.

2. That officials of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans be also invited to appear before the Committee for the study of the Supplementary Estimates (B) at a separate meeting following the Minister's appearance.

3. That officials of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development be invited to appear for one meeting to brief the Committee on the fish component of the Free Trade Agreement with the European Union (CETA).

4. That officials from the Department of Fisheries and Oceans be invited to appear, at a separate meeting, to brief the Committee on the fish component of the Free Trade Agreement with the European Union.

5. That the three members of the Maritime Lobster Panel who produced a recent report on the Lobster Industry on November 7, 2013, be invited to brief the Committee on their findings, by videoconference or in person.

 

At 3:48 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
