The Standing Committee on the Status of Women met in camera at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, Hélène LeBlanc, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Stella Ambler, Niki Ashton, Joan Crockatt, Kirsty Duncan, Hélène LeBlanc, Tilly O'Neill Gordon, Annick Papillon, Susan Truppe, Terence Young and Wai Young.

 

Acting Members present: Guy Lauzon for Joyce Bateman and José Nunez-Melo for Djaouida Sellah.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Martha Butler, Analyst; Laura Munn-Rivard, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, November 19, 2013, the Committee resumed its study of sexual harassment in the federal workplace.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

At 4:26 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:31 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "A Study on Sexual Harassment in the Federal Workplace".

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and Analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

 

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House, by Wednesday December 11, 2013.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee append to its report immediately after the signature of the Chair, dissenting and/or supplementary opinions, from the NDP and Liberal parties, provided that they are no more than ten (10) pages in length and be submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the Clerk of the Committee, no later than 12:00 noon on Wednesday, December 11, 2013.

 

By unanimous consent, the Committee considered matters relating to Committee Business.

 

It was agreed, — That on Tuesday, December 10, 2013, the Committee invite Status of Women Canada and Health Canada officials to appear in relation to its study on eating disorders amongst girls and women.

 

At 5:28 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
