The Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development met in camera at 11:01 a.m. this day, in Room 306, The Valour Building, the Chair, Dean Allison, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Dean Allison, Lois Brown, Paul Dewar, Marc Garneau, Peter Goldring, Gary Ralph Schellenberger and Bernard Trottier.

 

Acting Members present: Jean Crowder for Romeo Saganash and Hon. Deepak Obhrai for Hon. Laurie Hawn.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Allison Goody, Analyst; Brian Hermon, Analyst. House of Commons: Joann Garbig, Procedural Clerk.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, May 7, 2015, the Committee resumed its study Towards the next North American Leaders' Summit.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "North America: Giving the Continent the Attention it Deserves".

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

 

It was agreed, — That the Clerk of the Committee, in consultation with the Chair, issue a news release for publication on the Committee's website and for distribution upon presentation of the report to the House.

 

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, the Committee resumed its study of the Protection of Children and Youth in Developing Countries.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Beyond Survival: Protecting and Empowering Children and Youth".

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee append to its report dissenting and/or supplementary opinions, immediately after the signature of the Chair, provided that they are no more than two (2) pages in length and be submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the Clerk of the Committee, no later than noon on Wednesday, June 17, 2015.

 

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, the Committee resumed its study of the situation in Hong Kong.
 

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the motion adopted by the Committee, on Thursday, June 11, 2015, the news release note that the report was adopted unanimously.

 

At 11:51 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
