The Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics met in camera at 8:46 a.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Pat Martin, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Scott Andrews, Charlie Angus, Charmaine Borg, Paul Calandra, John Carmichael, Patricia Davidson, Earl Dreeshen, Jacques Gourde, Pat Martin, Colin Mayes, Tilly O'Neill Gordon and Mathieu Ravignat.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Miguel Bernal-Castillero, Analyst; Dara Lithwick, Analyst; Maxime-Olivier Thibodeau, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Monday, October 21, 2013, section 67 of the Conflict of Interest Act, and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, November 7, 2013, the Committee resumed the statutory review of the Conflict of Interest Act.
 

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "The Statutory Review of the Conflict of Interest Act ".

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analyst be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee append to its report dissenting and/or supplementary opinions from members of the opposition parties provided that they are no more than 4 pages in length and be submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the Clerk of the Committee, no later than December 10, 2013.

 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

 

At 9:07 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
