The Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development met at 10:59 a.m. this day, in Room 306, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Harold Albrecht, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Harold Albrecht, Robert Aubin, Colin Carrie, François Choquette, Mylène Freeman, Megan Anissa Leslie, James Lunney, Hon. John McKay, Robert Sopuck, Lawrence Toet and Stephen Woodworth.

Acting Members present: Bev Shipley for Brian Storseth and Devinder Shory for Brian Storseth.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Penny Becklumb, Analyst ; Tim Williams, Analyst . House of Commons: Emma-Leigh Boucher, Procedural Clerk.

Witnesses: Office of the Auditor General of Canada: Neil Maxwell, Interim Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development; James McKenzie, Principal, Sustainable Development Strategies, Audits and Studies; Bruce Sloan, Principal, Sustainable Development Strategies, Audits and Studies; Andrew Ferguson, Principal, Sustainable Development Strategies, Audits and Studies. Pursuant to Standing Order 32(5), the Committee commenced consideration of the Report of the Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development to the House of Commons (Fall 2013), referred to the Committee on Tuesday, November 5, 2013.

Neil Maxwell made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

At 12:02 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:06 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Chris Forbes and Rob Prosper made statements and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

At 1:00 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
