The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met at 3:38 p.m. this day, in Room 7-52, 131 Queen Street, the Chair, Gordon Brown, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Gordon Brown, Hon. Stéphane Dion, Rick Dykstra, Jim Hillyer, Pierre Nantel, Kennedy Stewart, John Weston, Terence Young and David Yurdiga.

 

Acting Members present: Matthew Kellway for Rathika Sitsabaiesan.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Michael Dewing, Analyst; Marion Ménard, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: William F. White International Inc.: Paul Bronfman, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer; David Hardy, Vice-President, Industry and Government Relations. North Shore Studios: Peter Leitch, President, Chair of Motion Picture Production Industry Association of British Columbia. Brightlight Pictures: Shawn Williamson, President, Member of Motion Picture Production Industry Association of British Columbia.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, February 16, 2015, the Committee resumed its review of the Canadian feature film industry.
 

Peter Leitch, Shawn Williamson, by videoconference from North Vancouver, British Columbia, and Paul Bronfman, by videoconference from Toronto, Ontario, made statements and, with David Hardy, by videoconference from Toronto, Ontario, answered questions.

 

At 4:35 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:36 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

At 4:46 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
