The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met at 11:01 a.m. this day, in Room 228, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Gordon Brown, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Ray Boughen, Gordon Brown, Hon. Stéphane Dion, Rick Dykstra, Ted Falk, Jim Hillyer, Irene Mathyssen, Pierre Nantel, Kennedy Stewart and John Weston.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Michael Dewing, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences: Allan Reid, Director, MusiCounts. As individuals: Brett Kissel; Louis O'Reilly, Manager, O'Reilly International Inc. Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, December 5, 2013, the Committee resumed its review of the Canadian music industry.
 

Allan Reid and Brett Kissel made statements and, with Louis O'Reilly, answered questions.

 

At 12:00 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:05 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Ian MacKay, Sébastien Nasra and Richard Petit and Annie Morin, by videoconference from Montréal, Québec, made statements and answered questions.

 

At 12:56 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:58 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.
