The Standing Committee on Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development met in a televised session at 11:01 a.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Chris Warkentin, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Hon. Carolyn Bennett, Dennis Bevington, Ray Boughen, Rob Clarke, Jean Crowder, Jim Hillyer, Carol Hughes, Kyle Seeback, Mark Strahl and Chris Warkentin.

 

Acting Members present: Yvonne Jones for Hon. Carolyn Bennett, Greg Kerr for Kyle Seeback, Ryan Leef for Hon. Diane Ablonczy and Hoang Mai for Jonathan Genest-Jourdain.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Norah Kielland, Analyst; Tonina Simeone, Analyst.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on tuesday, December 3, 2013, the Committee commenced consideration of the subject matter of Bill C-15 on the Northwest Territories Devolution Act.
 

The Minister made a statement and, with Paula Isaak, Tara Shannon, Wayne Walsh and Tom Isaac, answered questions.

 

At 11:57 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:05 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

The Hon. J. Michael Miltenberger made a statement and, with Shaleen Woodward, answered questions.

 

At 12:57 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
