The Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities met at 8:49 a.m. this day, in Room 228, La Promenade Building, the Vice-Chair, Jamie Nicholls, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Mark Adler, Olivia Chow, Hon. Denis Coderre, Ed Holder, Jamie Nicholls, Pierre Poilievre, Blake Richards, Mike Sullivan, Lawrence Toet and Jeff Watson.

 

Acting Members present: Alexandre Boulerice for Isabelle Morin.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Allison Padova, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Canadian Transportation Equipment Association: Don Moore, Executive Director.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on September 26, 2011, the Committee resumed its study of Innovative Transportation Technologies.
 

Don Moore made a statement and answered questions.

 

At 10:00 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:04 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That when inviting witnesses in relation to the Study on Innovative Transport Technologies, the Committee Clerk include the following message in his invitation:

“The Committee is not interested in long introductions, greetings, or general observations. Rather, the Committee seeks the following: what is your proposed transportation innovation? Why is it good? What are the barriers to making it happen? What are you asking from the Transport Committee?”

And that this message not be sent to historians, because it does not pertain to their testimony.

 

At 10:24 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
