The Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates met in a televised session at 8:48 a.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Pat Martin, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Denis Blanchette, Kelly Block, Peter Braid, Hon. Ron Cannan, Linda Duncan, Jacques Gourde, Jean-François Larose, Pat Martin, Hon. John McCallum, Costas Menegakis, Bernard Trottier and Mike Wallace.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Tina Lise LeGresley, Analyst ; Lindsay McGlashan, Analyst.

Witnesses: Department of Public Works and Government Services: Alex Lakroni, Chief Financial Officer, Finance Branch; John McBain, Assistant Deputy Minister, Real Property Branch; Pablo Sobrino, Associate Assistant Deputy Minister, Acquisitions Branch; Andrew Treusch, Associate Deputy Minister. Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(c)(viii), the Committee resumed consideration of the Supplementary Estimates (B) 2012-13.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, the Committee commenced its study of the Departmental Performance Report 2011-12 for the Department of Public Works and Government Services.

Andrew Treusch made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

At 9:44 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:48 a.m., the sitting resumed.

Pursuant to Standing Order 81(5), the Committee resumed consideration of the Supplementary Estimates (B) 2012-13: Vote 1b under PRIVY COUNCIL referred to the Committee on Thursday, November 8, 2012.

Michelle Doucet made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the meeting of Tuesday, December 11, 2012, with the Treasury Board Secretariat regarding its follow-up on the Committee’s Seventh Report entitled “Strengthening Parliamentary Scrutiny of Estimates and Supply” be held in camera.

It was agreed, — That, notwithstanding any prior decision, the meeting of Thursday, December 13, 2012, with the Department of Public Works and Government Services regarding the update on the parliamentary precinct renovation project be held instead on Thursday, December 6, 2012.

The Chair called Vote 95b under CANADIAN HERITAGE.
