The Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates met in a televised session at 4:30 p.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Pat Martin, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Scott Armstrong, Denis Blanchette, Kelly Block, Alexandre Boulerice, Peter Braid, Ron Cannan, Jacques Gourde, Pat Martin, Hon. John McCallum, Bernard Trottier, Nycole Turmel and Mike Wallace.

Associate Members present: Andrew Saxton.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Édison Roy-César, Analyst ; Maxime-Olivier Thibodeau, Analyst.

Appearing: Hon. Tony Clement, President of the Treasury Board.

Witnesses: Treasury Board Secretariat: Michelle d'Auray, Secretary of the Treasury Board of Canada. Department of Industry: Mitch Davies, Acting Assistant Deputy Minister, Regional Operations. Pursuant to Standing Orders 108(2) and 108(3)(c)(viii), the Committee commenced consideration of the Main Estimates 2011-2012: Votes 1, 5, 10, 20, 25, 30, 33, 40, 45 and 50 under TREASURY BOARD referred to the Committee on Friday, June 3, 2011.

Pursuant to Standing Orders 108(2) and 108(3)(c)(viii), the Committee commenced consideration of the Supplementary Estimates (A) 2011-2012: Vote 30a under TREASURY BOARD referred to the Committee on Thursday, June 9, 2011.

Pursuant to Standing Order108(2) and 108(3)(c)(viii), the Committee resumed consideration of the Main Estimates 2011-2012: All Votes referred to the Committee on Friday, June 3, 2011.

Pursuant to Standing Orders 108(2) and 108(3)(c)(viii), the Committee resumed consideration of the Supplementary Estimates (A) 2011-2012: All Votes referred to the Committee on Thursday, June 9, 2011.

The Minister, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

At 6:30 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
