Meeting No. 51

The Standing Committee on National Defence met in camera at 3:34 p.m. this day, in Room 362, East Block, the Chair, James Bezan, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Chris Alexander, James Bezan, Tarik Brahmi, Corneliu Chisu, Cheryl Gallant, Jack Harris, Hon. John McKay, Christine Moore, Rick Norlock, Ted Opitz and Mark Strahl.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Wolfgang Koerner, Analyst ; Melissa Radford, Analyst . House of Commons: Michelle Tittley, Procedural Clerk.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of the Care of ill and injured Canadian Forces members, the proposed budget in the amount of $15,200, for the period of 2012-2013, be adopted.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, September 29, 2011, the Committee resumed its study of Maintaining the readiness of the Canadian Forces.

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the Committee’s consideration of a draft report on Maintaining the Readiness of the Canadian Forces, and notwithstanding the motion adopted on Tuesday, June 21, 2011, regarding notices of motions, members of the Committee submit to the clerk proposed amendments, and that the clerk distribute copies to members in both official languages.

At 5:32 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
