The Standing Committee on National Defence met in camera at 1:00 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, James Bezan, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Chris Alexander, James Bezan, David Christopherson, Cheryl Gallant, Hon. John McKay, Christine Moore, Rick Norlock, Ted Opitz and Mark Strahl.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Melissa Radford, Analyst.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

The Chair presented the First Report from the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure which read as follows:

Your Subcommittee met on Thursday, December 8, 2011, to consider the business of the Committee and agreed to make the following recommendations:

1. That the Clerk of the Committee, in consultation with the Chair, prepare a draft budget respecting the Committee's proposed travel to Toronto and Kingston, in relation to its study of maintaining the readiness of the Canadian Forces, for consideration by the Standing Committee.

 

It was agreed, — That the report of the Subcommittee be concurred in.

 

It was agreed, — That the Clerk of the Committee, in consultation with the Chair, prepare a draft budget respecting the Committee's proposed travel to Toronto and Kingston, in relation to its study of maintaining the readiness of the Canadian Forces, for consideration by the Committee on December 12, 2011.

 

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of maintaining the readiness of the Canadian Forces, the proposed budget in the amount of $ 34,175.55, for the Committee’s travel to Toronto and Kingston on February 12 to 14, 2012, be adopted and that the Chair present the said budget to the Subcommittee on Committee Budgets of the Liaison Committee.

 

At 1:07 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
