The Standing Committee on Human Resources, Skills and Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met at 11:04 a.m. this day, in Room 7-52, 131 Queen Street, the Chair, Ed Komarnicki, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Marjolaine Boutin-Sweet, Brad Butt, Chris Charlton, Joe Daniel, Ed Komarnicki, François Lapointe, Kellie Leitch, Colin Mayes and Phil McColeman.

 

Acting Members present: Lysane Blanchette-Lamothe for Ryan Cleary, Sean Casey for Rodger Cuzner, Peter Julian for Ryan Cleary and Ted Opitz for Devinder Shory.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Sandra Gruescu, Analyst; André Léonard, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act Alliance: David Lepofsky, Chair. Canadian Association for Supported Employment: Tracy Williams, President; Sean Wiltshire, Board Member. L. Tara Hooper and Associates Inc.: Lisa Tara Hooper, President. Ontario Disability Employment Network: Joseph Dale, Executive Director, Founder and Manager, Rotary at Work. Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)d) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, January 31, 2013, the Committee resumed its study of exploring employment opportunities for persons with disabilities.
 

Joseph Dale, Nancy Moreau, Lyne Vincent, Tracy Williams by videodonference from Brandon, Manitoba, and Sean Wiltshire by videoconference from St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, made statements and answered questions.

 

At 11:28 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:17 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Debbie Hagel, Nancy Zeleny and James Noble by videoconference from Regina, Saskatchewan, David Lepofsky by videoconference from Toronto, Ontario, and Lisa Tara Hooper made statements and answered questions.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

Brad Butt moved, — That the Committee proceed to sit in camera.

 

The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to on the following recorded division: YEAS: Brad Butt, Joe Daniel, Kellie Leitch, Colin Mayes, Phil McColeman, Ted Opitz — 6; NAYS: Marjolaine Boutin-Sweet, Sean Casey, Chris Charlton, Peter Julian, François Lapointe — 5.
