The Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development met at 9:00 a.m. this day, in the Guild Hall, Atlantica Hotel Halifax, Halifax, Nova Scotia, the Chair, Mark Warawa, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: François Choquette, James Lunney, Mark Warawa and Stephen Woodworth.

 

Acting Members present: Hon. Mark Eyking for Kirsty Duncan and Laurin Liu for Megan Anissa Leslie.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Penny Becklumb, Analyst.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, January 31, 2012, the Committee resumed its study to provide recommendations regarding the development of a national conservation plan.
 

Jeffrey A. Hutchings, Martin Willison, Todd Dupuis and Frederick G. Whoriskey made statements and, with Lewis Hinks, answered questions.

 

At 10:29 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:46 a.m., the sitting resumed.

 

David Coon, Steve Burgess, Ward Samson and Soren Bondrup-Nielsen made statements and, with Marty King, answered questions.

 

At 12:17 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 1:30 p.m., the sitting resumed.
