The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met at 11:03 a.m. this day, in Room 8-53, 131 Queen Street, the Chair, the Hon. Rob Moore, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Scott Armstrong, Gordon Brown, Paul Calandra, Andrew Cash, Matthew Dubé, Parm Gill, Jim Hillyer, Hon. Rob Moore, Pierre Nantel, Scott Simms and Terence Young.

 

Acting Members present: Glenn Thibeault for Rathika Sitsabaiesan and Mike Wallace for Terence Young.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Marion Ménard, Analyst; Michael Dewing, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Funeral Service Association of Canada: Scott MacLeod, President; Sue Lasher, Vice-President; Brian McGarry. Hotel Association of Canada: Tony Pollard, President. As an individual: Allan Cole, Mortuary Affairs Contractor for Deployed Department of National Defence and Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Correctional Service of Canada: Don Head, Commissioner. International Association of Venue Managers: Richard Haycock, General Manager.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, September 27, 2011, the Committee resumed its review of national protocol procedures.
 

Scott MacLeod, Brian McGarry, Tony Pollard, Allan Cole, Don Head and Richard Haycock made statements and, with Sue Lasher, answered questions.

 

At 12:47 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:51 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

At 12:57 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
