The Standing Committee on Official Languages met at 1:52 p.m. this day, in the Katimavik B and C Rooms, The Explorer Hotel, Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, the Chair, Steven Blaney, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Hon. Mauril Bélanger, Steven Blaney, Royal Galipeau, Bernard Généreux, Yvon Godin, Monique Guay, Guy Lauzon, Brian Murphy and Lise Zarac.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Lucie Lecomte, Analyst.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(f), and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, November 30, 2010, the Committee resumed consideration of the study of the development of linguistic duality in Northern Canada.
 

Alain Bessette, Jean-François Pitre, Justin Carey, Simon Lepage and Jean de Dieu Tuyshime made statements and, with Sylvie Francoeur and Marie-Pierre Dupont, answered questions.

 

At 3:26 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 3:38 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Suzette Montreuil, Marie Coderre, Rachelle Francoeur and Marc Bilodeau made statements and, with Philippe Brûlot, answered questions.

 

At 4:59 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
