The Standing Committee on Finance met in a televised session at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, James Rajotte, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Kelly Block, Bernard Généreux, Russ Hiebert, Hon. John McCallum, Hon. John McKay, Ted Menzies, Thomas J. Mulcair, Massimo Pacetti, Daniel Paillé, James Rajotte and Mike Wallace.

 

Acting Members present: Luc Desnoyers for Robert Carrier, Martha Hall Findlay for Hon. John McCallum, Derek Lee for Hon. John McCallum and John Rafferty for Thomas J. Mulcair.

 

Associate Members present: Steven Blaney.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: June Dewetering, Chief Analyst; Mark Mahabir, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Nortel Retirees' and Former Employees' Protection Committee: Donald Sproule, Chair, National Committee; Bernard Neuschwander, Chair, Québec Region. Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, the Committee resumed its study of the retirement income security of Canadians.
 

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

 

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $44,800, for the study of the retirement income security of Canadians, be adopted.

 

At 5:32 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
