The Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development met in camera at 3:51 p.m. this day, in Room 228, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Dean Allison, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Dean Allison, Johanne Deschamps, Paul Dewar, Jean Dorion, Peter Goldring, James Lunney, Deepak Obhrai, Bernard Patry, Glen Douglas Pearson, Hon. Bob Rae and Dave Van Kesteren.

 

Acting Members present: Lois Brown for Hon. Jim Abbott, Lois Brown for Dave Van Kesteren and Tim Uppal for Hon. Jim Abbott.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Allison Goody, Analyst; James Lee, Analyst.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the Committee meet, as soon as possible, with Gérard Latulippe, President of Rights & Democracy, and Aurel Braun, Chair of the Board of Directors of Rights & Democracy, in two separate one hour meetings.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee adopt the workplan and list of suggested witnesses prepared by the analysts for its study on international disaster response and the situation in Haiti; and that members submit their lists of additional witnesses to the Clerk, should they wish to do so.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee accept requests to meet with the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation (GAVI) concerning child and maternal health, and the Canadian Council for International Co-operation concerning the situation in Honduras, in two separate one hour meetings.

 

At 4:10 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
