The Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development met in camera at 8:49 a.m. this day, in Room 228, La Promenade Building, the Chair, James Bezan, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Scott Armstrong, James Bezan, Bernard Bigras, Blaine Calkins, Linda Duncan, Joyce Murray, Christian Ouellet, Francis Scarpaleggia, Mark Warawa and Stephen Woodworth.

Acting Members present: Ray Boughen for Scott Armstrong and Francis Valeriote for Gerard Kennedy.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Kristen E. Courtney, Analyst ; Tim Williams, Analyst.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), section 129 of the Species at Risk Act and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, March 16, 2010, the Committee resumed the statutory review of the Act — Issues and options relating to the Committee report.

The Committee resumed consideration of the issues and options relating to the Committee report.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the Committee approve the operational budget in the amount of $21,500 for its study of Statutory Review of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act (CEAA).

It was agreed, — That members submit their list of suggested witnesses for the Statutory Review of the CEAA to the Clerk of the Committee by Monday, March 21, 2011.

At 10:45 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
