The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met at 11:08 a.m. this day, in Room 752, 131 Queen St., the Chair, Gary Ralph Schellenberger, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Charlie Angus, Dean Del Mastro, Ruby Dhalla, Royal Galipeau, Carole Lavallée, Roger Pomerleau, Pablo Rodriguez, Gary Ralph Schellenberger and Scott Simms.

 

Acting Members present: Patricia Davidson for Tim Uppal, Kevin Sorenson for Rod Bruinooge and Mike Wallace for Nina Grewal.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Michael Dewing; Marion Ménard.

 

Witnesses: Canadian Film and Television Production Association: Marc Séguin, Policy; John Barrack. Nordicity Group Ltd.: Peter Lyman. National Campus and Community Radio Association: Shelley Robinson. Telefilm Canada: Carolle Brabant; Dave Forget, Contracts and Certification.

 

It was agreed, — That a travel budget of $1,873 be granted to the Committee to allow one of the analyst to attend the conference on Canada 3.1 in Stratford, Ontario from May 9, 2010 to may 11, 2010.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, March 16, 2010, the Committee resumed its study on the emerging and digital media: opportunities and challenges.
 

Marc Séguin, John Barrack and Peter Lyman made a statement and answered questions.

 

At 12:03 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:08 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Shelley Robinson and Carolle Brabant made a statement and answered questions.

 

At 1:00 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
