The Standing Committee on Veterans Affairs met in camera at 11:05 a.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Chair, David Sweet, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Guy André, Bonnie Crombie, Greg Kerr, Ben Lobb, Colin Mayes, Phil McColeman, Robert Oliphant, Hon. Judy Sgro, Peter Stoffer, Brian Storseth, David Sweet and Robert Vincent.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: James Cox, Analyst. House of Commons: Julie-Anne Macdonald, Committee Clerk.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, March 11, 2010, the Committee resumed its review of the new Veterans Charter.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

It was agreed on division, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analyst be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

It was agreed, — That the evidence received by the Standing Committee on Veterans Affairs in relation to its review of the New Veterans Charter during the 2nd Session of the 40th Parliament, be deemed adduced by the Committee in the current session.

 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee append to its report a supplementary opinion from Guy André provided that it is no more than one page in length and submitted electronically in both official languages to the Clerk of the Committee, in 48 hours.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

 

At 12:20 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
