The Standing Committee on Natural Resources met at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Vice-Chair, Alan Tonks, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: David Anderson, Hon. Navdeep Bains, Paule Brunelle, Hon. Geoff Regan, Devinder Shory, Alan Tonks and Bradley R. Trost.

 

Acting Members present: Dona Cadman for Leon Benoit, Bruce Hyer for Nathan Cullen, Phil McColeman for Russ Hiebert, Christian Ouellet for France Bonsant and Daniel Petit for Mike Allen.

 

Associate Members present: Pierre Poilievre.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Jean-Luc Bourdages, Analyst; Mohamed Zakzouk, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Canadian Solar Industries Association: Elizabeth McDonald, Executive Director; Wes Johnston, Director, Policy and Research. Centre for Agricultural Renewable Energy and Sustainability (CARES): Art Schaafsma, Director, Ridgetown Campus, University of Guelph; Abimbola Abiola, Chair, Olds College School of Innovation. Net-Zero Energy Home Coalition: Gordon Shields, Executive Director; Bruce Bibby, Representative, Manager, Energy Conservation, Hydro Ottawa Limited. Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, February 12, 2009, the Committee resumed its study on the contribution of integrated approaches for providing energy services in Canadian communities.
 

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

 

At 5:24 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
