The Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs met at 11:05 a.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, Joe Preston, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Harold Albrecht, Kelly Block, Rodger Cuzner, Michel Guimond, Hon. Marlene Jennings, Guy Lauzon, Tom Lukiwski, Joe Preston, Marcel Proulx and Scott Reid.

 

Acting Members present: Joe Comartin for Yvon Godin and Pierre A. Paquette for Claude DeBellefeuille.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Michel Bédard, Analyst.

 

Appearing: Hon. Peter Milliken, Speaker of the House of Commons.

 

Witnesses: House of Commons: Audrey O'Brien, Clerk of the House of Commons; Louis Bard, Chief Information Officer; Rob R. Walsh, Law Clerk and Parliamentary Counsel.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(a)(iii), the Committee commenced its review of Standing Orders 153 (List of Reports) and 156 (Editorial Corrections).
 

The Hon. Peter Milliken made a statement and answered questions.

 

The Committee commenced consideration of a draft report.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

 
Pursuant to its Order of Reference of Thursday, February 26, 2009, the Committee commenced consideration of the Main Estimates 2009-2010: Vote 5 (House of Commons) under PARLIAMENT.
 

The Chair called Vote 5 under PARLIAMENT.

 

The Hon. Peter Milliken made a statement and, with other witnesses, answered questions.

 

Vote 5 under PARLIAMENT carried.

 

ORDERED, — That the Chair report Vote 5, less the amount voted in Interim Supply, under PARLIAMENT to the House.

 

On motion of Tom Lukiwski, it was agreed, — That the Committee do now adjourn.

 

At 12:00 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
