The Standing Committee on National Defence met in camera at 3:36 p.m. this day, in Room 362, East Block, the Chair, Hon. Maxime Bernier, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Hon. Maxime Bernier, Ray Boughen, Hon. Denis Coderre, Cheryl Gallant, Jack Harris, Laurie Hawn, Hon. Anita Neville, Pascal-Pierre Paillé, LaVar Payne and Hon. Bryon Wilfert.

 

Acting Members present: Rob Clarke for Steven Blaney, Jean Dorion for Claude Bachand and Louis Plamondon for Claude Bachand.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: James Cox, Analyst.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the article entitled “The Arctic Waters and the Northwest Passage: A Final Revisit” by Professor Donat Pharand, published in Ocean Development & International Law, 38:3-69, 2007, be translated and distributed to members of the Committee.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, February 23, 2009, the Committee resumed its study of health services provided to Canadian Forces personnel with an emphasis on post-traumatic stress disorder.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That notwithstanding the order adopted on Monday, May 4, 2009, the Committee not meet on Wednesday, May 27, 2009.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee meet on Monday, June 8, 2009 to consider a draft report related to its study of health services provided to Canadian Forces personnel with an emphasis on post-traumatic stress disorder.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee meet on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 to hear witnesses in relation to its study on Arctic Sovereignty.

 

At 4:29 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
