The Standing Committee on Official Languages met at 9:04 a.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, Steven Blaney, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Steven Blaney, Jean-Claude JC D'Amours, Royal Galipeau, Shelly Glover, Yvon Godin, Monique Guay, Pierre Lemieux, Richard Nadeau, Daniel Petit, Pablo Rodriguez and Lise Zarac.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Jean-Rodrigue Paré, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Ontario French Catholic School Trustees Association: Carole Drouin, Executive Director; Dorothée Petit-Pas, President.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee proceeded to a briefing on the Ontario French Catholic School Trustees Association.
 

Dorothée Petit-Pas made a statement and, with Carole Drouin, answered questions.

 

At 9:44 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:51 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the Committee invite the following groups to appear on June 16, in order to provide details regarding their current situation with respect to federal funding: the Fédération des communautés francophones et acadienne du Canada (FCFA), the Quebec Community Groups Network (QCGN) and the Réseau des cégeps et collèges francophones du Canada (RCCFC).

 

It was agreed, — That the Clerk send to members the list of subjects to be studied, and that the members prioritize the subjects and send the list of potential witnesses to the Clerk.

 

At 10:31 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
