The Standing Committee on Health met at 3:33 p.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Joy Smith, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Hon. Carolyn Bennett, Patrick Brown, Colin Carrie, Patricia Davidson, Nicolas Dufour, Kirsty Duncan, Luc Malo, Cathy McLeod, Joyce Murray, Joy Smith, Tim Uppal and Judy Wasylycia-Leis.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Sonya Norris, Analyst; Karin Phillips, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Department of Health: Morris Rosenberg, Deputy Minister; Paul Gully, Senior Medical Advisor. House of Commons: Audrey O'Brien, Clerk of the House of Commons; Kevin M. Vickers, Sergeant-at-Arms; Kathryn Butler Malette, Director General, Human Resources, Corporate Planning and Communications.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday, August 12, 2009, the Committee resumed its study of H1N1 preparedness and response.
 

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

 

At 4:29 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:32 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the Committee host a working breakfast for a study group of senior governmental officials from the Russian Presidential Administration at a date to be determined by the Chair.

 

It was agreed, — That the Subcommittee on Neurological Disease meet for the first time on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 5:30 p.m..

 

At 5:31 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
