The Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met at 9:01 a.m. this day, at Kaylee Hall, Montague, Prince Edward Island, the Chair, Rodney Weston, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Mike Allen, Scott Andrews, Raynald Blais, Hon. Gerry Byrne, Blaine Calkins, Randy Kamp, Yvon Lévesque, Hon. Lawrence MacAulay, Peter Stoffer and Rodney Weston.

 

Associate Members present: Greg Kerr.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: François Côté, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Mariner Seafoods: Mark Bonnell, President; Lorne Bonnell. Prince Edward Island Fisherman's Association: Ken Drake, President; Ed Frenette, Executive Director. Prince Edward Island Seafood Processors Association: Maureen O'Reilly, Administrative Officer. Western Gulf Fishermen's Association: Craig Avery, President. LFA 24 Lobster Advisory Board: Francis Morrissey, Chairman.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, February 12, 2009, the Committee resumed its study of the Atlantic lobster fishery.
 

Ed Frenette made a statement and, with Ken Drake, answered questions.

 

At 10:02 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:13 a.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Maureen O'Reilly made a statement. Mark Bonnell and Lorne Bonnell answered questions.

 

At 11:01 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 11:15 a.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Craig Avery and Francis Morrissey made statements and answered questions.

 

At 12:04 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
