The Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development met in camera at 11:33 a.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, James Bezan, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: James Bezan, Bernard Bigras, Peter Braid, Blaine Calkins, Linda Duncan, David J. McGuinty, Francis Scarpaleggia, Justin Trudeau, Mark Warawa, Jeff Watson and Stephen Woodworth.

 

Acting Members present: Guy André for Christian Ouellet, Hon. Dominic LeBlanc for Francis Scarpaleggia, Hon. Dominic LeBlanc for Justin Trudeau, Paul John Mark Szabo for David J. McGuinty and Paul John Mark Szabo for Justin Trudeau.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Tim Williams, Analyst; Penny Becklumb, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: National Round Table on the Environment and the Economy: Bob Page, Chair.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

The Committee considered an alleged breach of privilege.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee adopt a motion to report this matter to the House.

 

At 12:22 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:24 p.m., the sitting resumed in public.

 
Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Wednesday, April 1, 2009, the Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-311, An Act to ensure Canada assumes its responsibilities in preventing dangerous climate change.
 

Bob Page, by videoconference from Calgary, Alberta, made a statement and answered questions.

 

At 12:38 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:39 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

At 1:00 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
