The Subcommittee on the Conflict of Interest Code for Members of the House of Commons of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs met in camera at 9:38 a.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, Scott Reid, presiding.

 

Members of the Subcommittee present: Chris Charlton, Gary Goodyear, Hon. Dominic LeBlanc, Pauline Picard and Scott Reid.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Sebastian Spano, Analyst; Mathieu Stanton, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Office of the Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner: Mary Elizabeth Dawson, Commissioner; Simon Coakeley, Deputy Commissioner; Gail Lidstone, Acting Manager, Compliance.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(a)(viii), the motion agreed to by the Standing Committee on Thursday, November 22, 2007 and the motion agreed to by the Subcommittee on Wednesday, November 28, 2007, the Subcommittee resumed its study of Disclosure Forms under the Conflict of interest Code for Members of the House of Commons.
 

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to the order of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs on Thursday, November 1, 2007 regarding attendance at in camera meetings, Melanie Mortensen, from the Office of the Law Clerk and Parlimentary Council, attend the meeting.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft forms, as amended, be approved.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair be authorized, on behalf of the Subcommittee, to review the final edited forms, and that the Chair then report the forms, as amended, to the Committee.

 

At 10:07 a.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
