The Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates met at 9:00 a.m. this day, in Room 214, Wellington Building, the Chair, Hon. Diane Marleau, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Harold Albrecht, Charlie Angus, Diane Bourgeois, Patrick Brown, Meili Faille, Raymonde Folco, Mark Holland, Daryl Kramp, Hon. Diane Marleau, Mario Silva and Chris Warkentin.

Acting Members present: Hon. Navdeep Bains for Hon. Diane Marleau, Ed Komarnicki for James Moore and David Tilson for James Moore.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Mathieu Stanton, Analyst ; Philippe Le Goff, Analyst.

Witnesses: Department of National Defence: Dan Ross, Assistant Deputy Minister (Materiel). Department of Public Works and Government Services: Liliane saint pierre, Assistant Deputy Minister, Acquisitions Branch; Terry Williston, Director General, Land, Aerospace and Marine Systems and Major Projects Sector.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(c) and the motion adopted by the Committee on April 15, 2008, the Committee resumed its study of the federal government's procurement processes.

Dan Ross and Liliane saint pierre made a statement and, with Terry Williston, answered questions.

At 10:08 a.m., Daryl Kramp took the Chair.

At 10:57 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:59 a.m., the sitting resumed.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

Mark Holland moved, — That the Committee review the “Report on the Investigation into Unauthorized Disclosure of Sensitive Diplomatic Information” published by the Privy Council Office on May 22, 2008, to consider whether the scope of this review was appropriate and report its findings to the House.

Debate arose thereon.

At 11:01 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
