The Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics met in a televised session at 10:03 a.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Paul Szabo, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Hon. Charles Hubbard, Carole Lavallée, Pat Martin, Richard Nadeau, Paul Szabo, David Tilson and Mike Wallace.

 

Acting Members present: Gord Brown for Russ Hiebert, Dean Del Mastro for Dave Batters, Gary Goodyear for Dave Van Kesteren, Marcel Proulx for Glen Douglas Pearson and Hon. Karen Redman for Sukh Dhaliwal.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Nancy Holmes, Analyst; Sebastian Spano, Analyst. House of Commons: Gregory Tardi, Parliamentary Counsel (Legal).

 

Witnesses: As individuals: Douglas Lowry; David Marler; Geoffrey Webber.

 
Pursuant to S.O. 108(3)(h)(vi) and the motion adopted by the Committee on June 19, 2008, the Committee resumed its study of the Activities of the Conservative Party of Canada during the 2006 Election Campaign in relation to certain Election Campaign Expenses and the Ethical Standards of Public Office Holders.
 

At 10:05 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 2:04 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Douglas Lowry, David Marler and Geoffrey Webber, duly sworn in, answered questions and made closing statements.

 

On motion of Marcel Proulx, it was agreed, — That the Committee do now adjourn.

 

At 4:16 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
