The Subcommittee on Committee Budgets of the Liaison Committee met in camera at 1:06 p.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, Dean Allison, presiding.

 

Members of the Subcommittee present: Dean Allison, Art Hanger, Guy Lauzon, Rob Merrifield, Hon. Judy Sgro, Paul Szabo and Tom Wappel.

 

Acting Members present: Leon Benoit for Art Hanger.

 

Other Members present: Rick Casson, Pauline Picard and Kevin Sorenson.

 

In attendance: House of Commons: Karen Thriepland, Coordinator, Logistics Services; Anik Paquette, Senior Financial Advisor; Samy Agha, Procedural Clerk. Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development: Angela Crandall, Clerk of the Committee. Standing Committee on National Defence: Andrew Bartholomew Chaplin, Clerk of the Committee.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 107(1), the Subcommittee resumed its study on Budget submissions.
 

The Clerk gave a presentation on the financial status of the global envelope for committee activities.

 

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on National Defence be granted a travel budget of $155,977 to travel to Afghanistan in September and October 2006, for its study of Canadian Forces in Afghanistan.

 

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development be granted a travel budget of $144,306 to travel to London, Helsinki, Oslo, Stockholm and Copenhagen from October 7 to 14, 2006, for its study on the democratic development.

 

At 1:43 p.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
