The Standing Committee on Natural Resources met in a televised session at 3:32 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Lee Richardson, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Mike Allen, Catherine Bell, Claude DeBellefeuille, Jacques Gourde, Richard Harris, Mark Holland, Christian Ouellet, Lee Richardson, Todd Norman Russell, Lloyd St. Amand, Alan Tonks and Bradley R. Trost.

 

Acting Members present: Daniel Petit for Jacques Gourde.

 

Associate Members present: Dennis Bevington.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Jean-Luc Bourdages, Analyst; Fréderic Beauregard-Tellier, Analyst.

 

Appearing: Hon. Gary Lunn, Minister of Natural Resources.

 

Witnesses: Forest Products Association of Canada: Avrim Lazar, President and Chief Executive Officer. National Energy Board: John McCarthy, Business Leader, Commodities; Bob Modray, Technical Specialist Economics & Energy Analysis Comodities Business Unit. Department of Natural Resources: Cassie J. Doyle, Deputy Minister; Richard Tobin, Assistant Deputy Minister, Corporate Management Sector.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday, March 28, 2007, the Committee resumed its study of Greening of Electricity Consumption in Canada.
 

John McCarthy, Bob Modray and Avrim Lazar made statements and answered questions.

 

At 4:31 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:35 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), the Committee commenced consideration of the Main Estimates 2007-2008: Votes 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 under NATURAL RESOURCES referred to the Committee on Tuesday, February 27, 2007.
 

The Hon. Gary Lunn made a statement and answered questions.

 

At 5:42 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
