The Standing Committee on Natural Resources met in a televised session at 3:33 p.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Lee Richardson, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Mike Allen, Catherine Bell, Hon. Roy Cullen, Claude DeBellefeuille, Richard Harris, Christian Ouellet, Christian Paradis, Lee Richardson, Lloyd St. Amand, Alan Tonks and Bradley R. Trost.

 

Acting Members present: Hon. Joe McGuire for Todd Norman Russell.

 

Other Members present: Pat Martin.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Jean-Luc Bourdages, Analyst.

 

Appearing: Hon. Gary Lunn, Minister of Natural Resources.

 

Witnesses: Department of Natural Resources: Cassie J. Doyle, Deputy Minister; Richard Tobin, Assistant Deputy Minister.

 
Pursuant to the Order of reference made Tuesday, April 25, 2006, the Committee commenced consideration of the Main Estimates 2006-2007 : Natural Resources, Votes 1, 5 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35.
 
Pursuant to the Order of reference made Monday,October 30, 2006, the Committee commenced consideration of the Supplementary Estimates (A) 2006-2007: Natural Resources, Votes 1a, 10a, 15a, 20a and 30a.
 

Hon. Gary Lunn made a statement and answered questions.

 

The Chair called Vote 1a under the Department of Natural Resources.

 

Vote 1a carried.

 

The Chair called Vote 10a under the Department of Natural Resources.

 

Catherine Bell moved, — That Vote 10a in the amount of $ 21,661,710 be reduced by $ 249,999 to $ 21,411,711.

 

After debate, the question was put on the motion and it was negatived, by a show of hands: YEAS: 1; NAYS: 9.

 

Vote 10a carried.

 

The Chair called Vote 15a under Atomic Energy of Canada Limited.

 

Vote 15a carried.

 

The Chair called Vote 20a under the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission.

 

Vote 20a carried.

 

The Chair called Vote 30a under the National Energy Board.

 

Vote 30a carried.

 

ORDERED, — That the Chair report Votes 1a, 10a, 15a, 20a and 30a, under NATURAL RESOURCES to the House.

 

At 5:24 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
