The Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food met at 11:10 a.m. this day, in Room 701, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Gerry Ritz, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: David Anderson, Alex Atamanenko, André Bellavance, Ken Boshcoff, Hon. Wayne Easter, Jacques Gourde, Gerry Ritz, Jean-Yves Roy and Hon. Robert Thibault.

 

Acting Members present: André Arthur for Larry Miller, Hon. Charles Hubbard for Paul Steckle, Luc Malo for Jean-Yves Roy and Bev Shipley for James Bezan.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Jean-Denis Fréchette, Principal; Frédéric Forge, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Fédération des producteurs de pommes de terre du Québec: Pierre Chouinard, President; Clément Lalancette, Director General. AMA-Terre: Philippe Gemme, President and Farmer; Richard St-Aubin, Vice-President. Frontier Center for Public Policy: Rolf Penner, Farmer. Union des producteurs agricoles du Québec: Denis Bilodeau, Vice-President; Serge Lebeau, Senior International Trade Manager.
