The Standing Committee on Transport met in camera at 9:08 a.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Roger Gallaway, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Dave Batters, Raymond Bonin, Robert Carrier, Hon. Roger Gallaway, Jim Gouk, Hon. Jim Karygiannis, Francis Scarpaleggia and Caroline St-Hilaire.

 

Acting Members present: Peter Julian for Bev Desjarlais.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: John Christopher, Analyst.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the Budget of $ 159, 460 as allocated by the Liaison Committee, for Washington D.C., United States and to London Great Britain; Brussels, Belgium; Paris, France; and Amsterdam, Netherlands; travel for the study on Air Liberalization and the Canadian Airports System be adopted and that the Chair seek the permission of the House to authorize the Committee to travel to the United States and to Europe between October 24 and November 19, 2005 in relation to the study on Air Liberalization and the Canadian Airports System .

 

It was agreed, — That the following witness: The Minister of Transport be invited to appear before the Committee after the break week, on October 18 or 20, 2005, in relation to the Policy, the Management and the Operation of the Department of Transport and other related issues.

 

At 9:30 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
