The Subcommittee on the Status of Persons with Disabilities of the Standing Committee on Human Resources, Skills Development, Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met at 3:33 p.m. this day, in Room 209 West Block, the Chair, Ken Boshcoff, presiding.

 

Members of the Subcommittee present: Ken Boshcoff, Carol Skelton and Robert Vincent.

 

Acting Members present: Yvon Godin for Peter Julian.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Chantal Collin, Analyst; Jean-Rodrigue Paré, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: House of Commons: William Corbett, Clerk; Marie-Andrée Lajoie, Clerk Assistant, House Proceedings; Benoit Giroux, Manager, Corporate Services, Health, Safety and Environment; Claude Charbonneau, Major Projects Coordinator, Parliamentary Precinct Services, Long-Term Architectural Planning Office; Elaine Diguer, Director, Multimedia Services & ISD Business Planning; Steven John Fletcher, Charleswood—St. James—Assiniboia.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Subcommittee on Wednesday, February 9, 2005, the Subcommittee commenced its study of issues related to accessibility for persons with disabilities within the Parliamentary Precinct.
 

William Corbett made a statement and, with Marie-Andrée Lajoie, Benoit Giroux, Claude Charbonneau and Elaine Diguer, answered questions.

 

At 4:37 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:40 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Steven Fletcher made a statement and answered questions.

 

At 5:21 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:22 p.m., the Subcommittee resumed sitting in camera.

 
The Subcommittee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Subcommittee business.
 

At 5:34 p.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
