The Standing Committee on Industry, Natural Resources, Science and Technology met in a televised session at 3:31 p.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Brent St. Denis, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Michael Chong, Hon. Denis Coderre, Paul Crête, John Duncan, Brian Masse, Hon. Jerry Pickard, Andy Savoy, Werner Schmidt and Brent St. Denis.

 

Acting Members present: Gérard Asselin for Paul Crête, Hon. Larry Bagnell for Lynn Myers, Dave Batters for Bradley R. Trost and Jean-Claude D'Amours for Hon. Jerry Pickard.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Jean-Luc Bourdages, Analyst.

 

Appearing: Hon. Ralph Goodale, Minister of Finance; Hon. David Emerson, Minister of Industry.

 

Witnesses: Department of Finance: Bob Hamilton, Assistant Deputy Minister, Tax Policy Branch; Denis Gauthier, Assistant Deputy Minister, Economic Development and Corporate Finance. Department of Industry: Glenn MacDonell, Director, Environmental Affairs, Energy and Environmental Industries Branch.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its study of Fuel/Gasoline prices in Canada.
 

Minister Goodale made a statement and, with Bob Hamilton, answered questions.

 

At 4:34 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:36 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Minister Emerson made a statement and answered questions.

 

At 5:43 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
