The Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met in camera at 3:33 p.m. this day, in Room 536, Wellington Building, the Chair, Tom Wappel, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Raynald Blais, Rodger Cuzner, Loyola Hearn, Randy Kamp, Gerald Keddy, Bill Matthews, Hon. Shawn Murphy, Jean-Yves Roy, Scott Simms and Tom Wappel.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: François Côté, Analyst; Alan Nixon, Principal.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the Committee meet on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m..

 

It was agreed, — That representatives of the Ecology Action Centre be invited to appear from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2005 subject to their availability.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion agreed to by the Committee on February 8, 2005, the Committee resumed its study of the northern cod, including the events leading to the collapse of the fishery and the failure of the stock to re-establish itself since the moratorium.
 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That on Tuesday, October 18 and Wednesday, October 19, 2005, the Committee resume its study of the northern cod, including the events leading to the collapse of the fishery and the failure of the stock to re-establish itself since the moratorium.

 

It was agreed, — That the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure meet on Wednesday, October 19, 2005 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. to discuss future committee business.

 

At 5:20 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
