The Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met at 8:39 a.m. this day, in the Victoria-Albert Room, Delta Winnipeg, Winnipeg, Manitoba, the Chair, Bernard Patry, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Helena Guergis, Bernard Patry and Beth Phinney.

 

Acting Members present: Hon. Bill Blaikie for Alexa McDonough and Joy Smith for Stockwell Day.

 

Associate Members present: Roger Clavet.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: James Lee, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Canadian Foodgrains Bank: Jim Cornelius, Executive Director. Manitoba Interfaith Immigration Council (Welcome Place): Martin M. Dolin, Executive Director. University of Manitoba: James Fergusson, Director, Centre for Defence and Security Studies; Michelle Gallant, Professor. Mennonite Central Committee: Bill Janzen, Director. Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on June 7, 2004, the Committee resumed its study of the International Policy Statement.
