The Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration met at 8:00 a.m. this day, in the Muskoka 1 - 2, Renaissance Toronto Airport Hotel, Toronto, Ontario, the Chair, Andrew Telegdi, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Colleen Beaumier, Roger Clavet, Inky Mark, Bill Siksay, Hon. Andrew Telegdi and Lui Temelkovski.

 

Associate Members present: Nina Grewal.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday, October 27, 2004, the Committee resumed its study of Family Reunification Issues.
 

Panel I. Family Reunification

 

Tao Lu, Kalen Liang, Caroline Lindberg, Lisa Wyndels, Macdonald Scott, Maria Antelo, Lilyam Trujillo, Debbie Douglas and Loly Rico made statements and, with Eugenia Cappellaro Zavaleta and Lee Tenenhouse, answered questions.

 

At 9:24 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:32 a.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Panel II. Family Reunification

 

Avvy Yao-Yao Go, Geraldine Sadoway, Robert M. Hakim and Peter Tedoldi made statements and, with Tatiana Nehotina and Regina Shamrakov, answered questions.

 

At 10:05 a.m. Lui Temelkovski took the Chair.

 

At 10:54 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 11:01 a.m., the sitting resumed.

 

At 11:01 a.m. Andrew Telegdi took the Chair.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday, October 27, 2004, the Committee resumed its study of Recognition of the International Experience and Credentials of Immigrants.
 

Panel III. Foreign Credentials

 

Kurt H. Davis, Carmencita R. Hernandez, Stephen Cryne, Sergio Karas, Rui Pires and Michael Cooke made statements and, with Alison McLennan, answered questions.

 

At 12:23 p.m., the Committee adjourned until 1:30 p.m. this afternoon.
