The Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration met at 8:30 a.m. this day, in the Pinnacle Ballroom 3, Marriott Vancouver Pinnacle, Vancouver, British Columbia, the Chair, Andrew Telegdi, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Diane Ablonczy, Colleen Beaumier, Meili Faille, Inky Mark, Bill Siksay, Hon. Andrew Telegdi and Lui Temelkovski.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Benjamin Dolin, Analyst.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday, October 27, 2004 the Committee resumed its study on Citizenship Issues.
 

Panel I.

 

Peter Li, Junie Desil, Myroslav Petriw and Robert E. Buchan made statements and, with Irina Portnova, Evelyn Zhang and Barb Smith answered questions.

 

At 9:47 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:00 a.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Panel II.

 

Sheila Walshe, Rachel Rosen, Aziz Khaki and Michèlle Rakotonaivo made statements and, with Yseult Friolet answered questions.

 

At 11:11 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 11:25 a.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Panel III.

 

Kate Manvell, Lilian To, Ansar Cheung, David Choi and Andrew Jakoy made statements and, with Les Szanyi witnesses answered questions.

 

At 12:33 p.m., the Committee adjourned to later this day.
