The Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food met at 9:36 a.m. this day, in Room 209 West Block, the Chair, Paul Steckle, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Gilbert Barrette, Rick Borotsik, Mark Eyking, David Kilgour, John O'Reilly, Dick Proctor, Gerry Ritz, Paul Steckle and Rose-Marie Ur.

 

Acting Members present: Leon Benoit for Ken Epp.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Jean-Denis Fréchette, Principal.

 

Witnesses: Department of Fisheries and Oceans: Brian Bohunicky, Director, Habitat Policy and Regulatory Affairs. Department of Environment Canada: Paula Caldwell St-Onge, Director General, National Programs Directorate, Environmental Protection Service. Canadian Wheat Board: Adrian Measner, President and Chief Executive Officer; Larry Hill, Director, Board of Directors; Deanna Allen, Vice-President, Communications.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee commenced its study of surface water and exclusionary fencing for livestock.
 

At 9:36 a.m., Brian Bohunicky and Paula Caldwell-St-Onge made statements and answered questions.

 

At 10:36 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:40 a.m., the sitting resumed.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee commenced its study of the Canadian Wheat Board pricing policy .
 

Adrian Measner and Larry Hill made statements and answered questions.

 

At 11:32 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
